Snow Day

Daddy and Maeli went down the snow hill today. Mike just loves the snow and wants every chance he can get to go and play in it. So he took Maeli and dressed her up in her little snow suit and they went out to play! I stayed home because I really dont like the snow or the cold... i would rather stay inside and stay warm! Maeli wasnt very happy at first because she couldnt move in her snow clothes... but when they got back she was smiling and Mike said that she had a good time! I took her snow suit off of her when she got back and set her down to go hang it up and when i got back she was already passed out on the floor. Good job daddy for wearing the little ball of energy out!

Turkey Time!!

I just love getting to go home! We had so much fun with all of our family around us for the holiday! We were lucky to get to see mikes aunt Nancy her husband and kids who came from Eugene to visit! We also got to see a lot of the marvin family too!
So i have been begging mike to build me a cook book holder to go in my kitchen since my birthday and it finally got done! Mike and my dad spent a day in Grandpa Marvins wood shop building it for me! I got it hung on the wall as soon as i got home and it looks so good! It is exactly what i wanted!!!
On Thanksgiving, we got to have a late lunch with mikes family! It was amazing!! Then in the evening we went out to Grandma and Grandpa Marvins house for a huge family dinner. Well Maeli had a fever of 103 so we had to leave early and go into the ER. I was super sad that i didn't get to stay and visit more but I'm glad that we got Maeli looked at. She had another ear infection, this time in both ears. She also had some virus which left her with a high fever and a swollen soft spot for 4 days. it was a bummer that she had to be sick again but she is almost all better now. So here is a pic of Maeli at Grandma and Grandpa Rankins house eating her first thanksgiving dinner. It was chicken and sweet potatoes :)
On black Friday i had a great time with my momma! Her and i went out shopping at 3:30 and laughed way too much!! There were really funny people out there with their grumpy attitudes and we also almost got hit by a semi. it was scary and i wanted to say a few choice words... but mom wouldn't let me :) But i did get my cuttlebug!!! i was so excited! i also got a bunch of plates and folders for it! I have had so much fun crafting with it. Now all i need is a cricut and i will get all my scrap booking that i wanna do done.

On Sunday we got to go and say goodbye to my cousin who is leaving for chili on his mission. it was fun to get to see everyone and eat a great dinner my aunt Heidi made! We also got to see one of my best friends who lives in Florida! She was home visiting and so we went over to their new home and visited with her for a while. Then unfortunately we had to go home :( The drive wasn't too bad though!

Im so happy that i live close enough to go home and visit! We only have three months till we are home for good and i cant wait! It is going to be so nice to get to go to all of the family events and get to visit everyone when we want!

Recently Maeli started pulling herself up to stand. We went into her room to find her standing in her crib! It was so cute!!! Since she is crawling also, she is quite a hand full and we have had to put her in a play pen a few times to keep her contained :) She hates it and always tries to push her way out. And she has hit her head on about everything in our apartment! Poor girl looks abused from all of her bumps on her head :)Okay... so this is an absolute horrible pic of me! I was all ready for bed with no makeup or no hair done so im sorry! But it was just too cute that Maeli kept trying to give me kisses and so i had to share :) She has been really big into giving kisses lately! They are great slobbery ones too!!

Crawling, being sick, and knitting

This last week we noticed Maeli getting a little bit of a cold. It was no big deal, but a runny nose and a bit of a cough was all. Well on Saturday she started wheezing really bad and then in the afternoon she started gasping for air. This freaked me out! I had no idea what to do for her because she couldn't breath! So i called up my mom and asked her what to do, trying not to bawl my eyes out and to stay calm. She suggested that i go into an immediate care place since my doctor wasn't open. So i did! We rushed down to the closest one here in town and we luckily had no wait and got right in. The doc said that she had an ear infection from the cold as well as an upper respiratory tract infection. Basically her airways were swollen making it hard for her to breath is what i got from it. So she had a nebulizer delivered to our house and we went and got some meds for the ear infection and for the nebulizer and we have been giving that to her every 4 hours. I think its pretty cute since the mask is a dinosaur. She has been doing much better but still is a little wheezy.

Well after we started to get her the meds, she started to get some energy back! So the next day she started to crawl. She has been army crawling for a few weeks now and so its fun to see her really crawl. She still hasn't gotten in quite down all of the way but she can take a few real crawls and then she will fall onto her tummy. We are so proud of her though and cant believe how fast she has been growing up! Its a little sad but so exciting at the same time. We love our little girl so much and feel so blessed to have her in our family!!


Also when mike and i were home to see his grandparents, his grandma gave me a pattern for knitting and also some squares for quilting. well i havent gotten around to the quilt but i have gotten to do a few of the knitted kitchen clothes. they are so cute! I was very impressed with how they turned out! I think they are adorable too!!!

Big Girl

The doc said that we can start giving Maeli rice cereal! I was pretty excited but Maeli wasn't. She cant quite figure out how to get it down yet and it makes it even harder that she hates the stuff. She was making all sorts of faces and it was pretty funny! She has been getting better but still doesnt seem to get any down. She also likes to grab the spoon so we just give her one to hold so that she doenst want the one that i am trying to feed her with. She is pretty cute though with her face all messy!!

Stamps and Cards

My friend Emiley got me hooked on stamping and card making! She brought me to a card making thing and I have made a few of my own since then too! She is also very into stamps and i have picked up on that as well! I am doing the bridal shower for my best friend since first grade and so i saw this as an opportunity to have fun and get creative with my card making skills :) Well i got so hooked on making the cards for that, that i started to learn how to make some more! I took some pictures of the cards that i have made both with Emiley and on my own! I am very proud of myself! Oh and stamping is very addicting i have discovered. I got some stamps for the cards and now i just wanna stamp everything because it is so much fun!!!

one last note... You HAVE to check out the video at the bottom of my spinner card! I was so impressed that i could figure this one out! its SWEET!!!

Update on our family!

I haven't posted anything for a while so i thought that i would put some stuff up here for the Grandparents :) Maeli has been growing lots and getting big. she is now 4 months only! We can hardly believe how fast time is going. We have a ton of pictures of her so i will try to only put the best ones up so there aren't too many :) And there is a video down below too so be sure to check that out! She has been laughing lots and its so cute that we have to share it with you!!

We havent had too much going on... but always seem to be busy. Mike is super busy with school and work so Maeli and i do a lot together. My best friend Heather is getting married so I have offered to help out with that since I dont do a whole lot other than play with Maeli. Im super excited to work on some suff for her. Mike works most weekends too and its so hard for us to get home now. But time is still flying on by and it wont be long till we are moving back home. Just 5 More months about... Maybe a little more. We are so excited to get out of Pocatello and get a real job! Well here are some pictures! Hope you enjoy!

Maeli got her ears pierced! Daddy got tired of people calling her a boy. She looks adorable with them though!

I colored my hair so Maeli and I had to take some pictures so I could show off the new hair color. its much darker than i have ever had but i like it a lot!

We got a pair of John Deer boots as a baby shower gift. They were so cute, so i had to make a little pink John Deer dress to match them. It turned out pretty cute and it look great with the boots! We are gonna get her next pictures taken with this outfit!

We also found this tiger Halloween costume and had to get it. My mom will be upset that we got a tiger suit.... since she is a die hard Vale Viking :)..... BUT We thought that it was cute and perfect for bringing her to the ISU Bengal games! She can be their little mascot! Maeli loved getting dressed up! We had to add a little ribbon to make her look like a girl tiger though.

Maeli is starting to learn how to use her hands. She is always trying to hold her own bottle. she is not very good at it yet and sometimes drops it but its still cute!

She has also discovered her toes!

Maeli loves to spend time with her daddy when she can. Since he is such a great daddy, he goes to school and has 18 credit and works 30+ hrs a week! We dont get to see him that often so when we do we love the time with him! We are so thankful for him and so proud of him for working this hard for us. Maeli loves it when he is home and she can play with him! She is quite the daddy's girl!

She learned to roll over about a month ago and she loves to lay on her tummy and look up at us. its adorable for sure!

Laughing

Maeli is starting to laugh... like really laughing at stuff. She was laughing in her sleep and every once in a while we could make her give one little giggle but today she really started to laugh. I turned on the camera to record her big and adorable smiles but she started to laugh and it was so much more fun! It has been a lot of fun now that she is getting bigger and interacting more with mike and i. We just absolutely love her to death!!! And we got her ears pierced so she is starting to look like a beautiful little lady! We feel so blessed to have such a healthy and happy little baby girl!

Crafts with Emiley!!

The other day Emiley gave me a sewing machine. I have been so excited to get to make some crafts with it but i havent had anything to make yet. So today... Emiley and I went to the craft store and bought some patterns that were on sale. One of them was a pattern for an apron! We picked out our fabrics and spend most of the day making them :) We were having so much fun and I am so impressed with how mine turned out!! I think that it is so adorable!!! I did it in a black and white print with green! I made mike a little upset that i spent the money to buy it all... but he was very impressed that i was able to make it look so good!! He isnt too mad now because he just said that i have to put it to use and make him some amazing dinners :) So i had mike take a pic of it so i could show it off! :)

Mike and i were playing in the park the other day with our hoops and so i made a video of it. We have been having so much fun at the park every day! Hope you enjoy!!

Oregon and other adventures

Its been a little while since i have updated my blog so i thought i would put a little something up here! We have had lots happen in the last month.
I finally got my hoop and have been enjoying spending lots of time learning lots of fun new tricks and getting back in shape after the baby!!! its been lots of fun!! i love it!!
We got to go home and visit for a little over a week! We had the time of our lives! On the 4th we got to go to the Vale 4th of July rodeo which is always the highlight of the month!! My Grandpa Hiatt's funeral was at the beginning of the week which was a really great funeral. I got to see so much of my family and we all came together to celebrate my grandpas life! it was beautiful to hear all the personal stories everyone had about Grandpa. We got to spend some time with BreAnne and got to go floating the boise river with her and my sister Brittany and her hubby Adam! it was a blast but very cold!!! Later in the week we got to go and visit the Marvin family who was also in town that same week. I saw lots of cousins and aunts that i hadnt seen in 5 years. We had another baby shower and got tons of clothes and money! we love all of the support that all of our friends and family give us! We got to go boating with my fiends Morganne and Sarah and Matt and his girl and my siblings :) Lot of things to do and tons of people that we got to see!!!
Since our trip home, we have gotten lots of cleaning done! Maeli got shots and had a fever for a day so that was a bummer for her! We also had to put her on formula because she was getting collic so bad that she wouldnt nurse anymore. But we are just glad that she is a happier baby who is in less pain!
Mike is still on the search for a job. he has been out applying for jobs every day this week and we are just hoping that he gets a good one soon!
Well now that our lives have slowed down...we have been enjoying getting to spend all our time together since mike doesnt have a job and have just been enjoying our summer by going to the park to HOOP!!! and spending time with friends
